Recent winner of the Innovation Design Award at EXPO-BICI Padua, the Olympia Leader is a new and exciting model for 2015. The design was based on three requisites: optimal design, incredible braking, and industry-leading aerodynamics.
A custom design by Olympia designed specifically FOR road disk brakes and not just adapted for them, featuring accentuated tubes with an aerodynamic design, including the fork stays. All details designed and perfected thanks to sophisticated virtual and 3D simulation software, this bike has a well-structured head tube joint, forming a small “fin” joining the horizontal tube to the down tube.
The monocoque frame is in carbon fibres T800s, T700 and M30. It features a sturdy fork, thanks to straight chain stays, with small lateral grooves to aid aerodynamics. The rear stay is fast and responsive, featuring a compact design and narrow wheel arch, following the tradition of the best aerodynamic frames. There is a small “spoiler” between the tube and rear stays, following the contours of the steering tube.
Leader was born for hydraulic road disk brakes: the left stay of the fork is off set with respect to the right stay, to facilitate brake movements, and the same reasons lie behind the totally asymmetrical design of the left bottom bracket, with a decidedly oversized design, to meet the challenges of increased stress and to accommodate the disk brake. Additionally, the hydraulic lines run entirely inside the frame.
